At VABI, we are all about having fun while we develop new projects to make Venice a more beautiful place to live,
work and play. Throughout the year we have ‘fun fund raising
events’ and we could use your help.
We need volunteers to: assist with parking, taking tickets, bar-tending, grilling and greeting our guests and sponsors.

Trailblazer Bike Patrol
VABI is fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteers offering their time to support the Venetian Waterway Park. The Trailblazers Bike Patrol Members ride the VWP performing neighborhood watch functions. They make patrol reports of safety and maintenance concerns to VABI. They act as additional eyes and ears of law enforcement and carry cell phones so that they can contact the Venice Police Department, the Sheriff’s office, or medical emergency personnel. All riders have background checks performed by the Venice Police Department.
The Trailblazers provide helpful information to VWP users. They are readily identifiable by their bright green shirts.
Additional volunteers always are needed to provide this valuable service to our community. If you are interested in joining the Trailblazers, please contact the VABI office at 941-207-8224, or fill out a Volunteer form on this website.
The Pepper Patrol
Our park projects are thriving due to a dedicated group of volunteers that meet regularly to mulch, plant, water, trim, remove
pepper trees, pick up trash, and otherwise enhance the beauty of Venice. Over the years, they have won numerous awards
for their outstanding service to the community.
The Pepper Patrol currently meets every Thursday morning at 8:00 am in Volunteer Park. They work on a variety of different projects including the Venice Arboretum at West Blalock Park, Caspersen Beach Park, Volunteer Park, and the Venetian Waterway Park. They also clean up trash for Keep Sarasota County Beautiful on behalf of VABI along East Venice Avenue, at Caspersen Beach Park, and the South Jetty. The Pepper Patrol has won numerous awards for their outstanding service to the community.
